The Alaskan Husky was mainly bred as a working dog breed and is a superior sledge dog to the Siberian Husky. It is an intelligent breed which is both social and energetic. They only respond to leadership and if they are not guided, they will not obey. These playful dogs make excellent pets but are not great watchdogs. They hate to be lonely and loneliness often leads to destructive behavior.

The Alaskan Husky is a good companion and it likes to be around people and other dogs. It is affectionate and prefers snuggling because that is how it keeps warm in the snow and in its working environment. They like jumping on you but that is just their way of trying to be friends.
